Corfe CastleThousand-year-old royal castle shaped by warfare. Enjoy one of Britain's most iconic and evocative survivors of the English Civil War, partially demolished in 1646 by the Parliamentarians. A favourite haunt for adults and children alike, you can't fail to be captivated by these romantic castle ruins with breathtaking views across Purbeck.

30th March - 1st April - Pike and Shot - Medieval Archery - Back by popular demand Pike and Shot will be taking part in the The Grand Muster with a new story to tell for 2016.
2nd - 10th April - Wolfshead Bowmen - Medieval Archery - The Wolfshead Bowmen come to Corfe Castle and bring the past to life. A medieval encampment, demonstrations of combat, skilled archery displays, talks on the longbow and have-a-go sessions.
11th April - Walk: 'Roman Sandals to Steel Toe Caps' - Discover the fascinating history of Purbeck limestone and marble.
16th & 17th April - Feudals - Medieval Archery - Medieval living history and archery displays portraying life in Britain from the Feudal period of 1135 to 1216, spanning the reigns of four kings - Stephen, Henry II, Richard I and John.
30th April - 2nd May - Saxons & Vikings: Siege of Wareham - Back by popular demand for 2016, we invite you to come and witness re-enactments and battles, explore the Saxon village and talk to the craftspeople.
7th, 8th, 21st & 22nd May - Saxon & Viking Essential Skills and Storytelling - Come along and try your hand at some Viking and Saxon skills.
14th & 15th May - Saxon & Viking Academy - Come along and get involved at our Saxon and Viking Academy where you will have the chance to become a brave warrior.
28th, 29th, 31st May & 1st, 2nd, 3rd June - The Spice Box - Back by popular demand for 2016, one woman theatre show presents 'The Spice Box'.
4th & 5th June - Saxon & Viking Falconry - Immerse yourself in the origins of falconry.

25th & 26th June - Civil War Falconry - Learn how the noble class and the great practitioners of falconry were affected by the war and when the glory days of falconry became less popular.
9th July - 29th August - Tudor Adventure - Back by popular demand for 2016, step back in time to the late Tudor period 1572 - 1603 at Corfe Castle. Discover life in Purbeck and the castle under the ownership of Sir Christopher Hatton in the Tudor Dynasty of Elizabeth I.

3rd & 4th September - Storytelling for families: The Normans - A thrilling story of two castles; one built of stone the other of wood.
10th & 11th September - Civil War: Besieged & Betrayed - Experience all aspects of a 17th century Civil War encampment at Corfe Castle, including drills and weaponry displays, led by Lord Hopton's Regiment of Foote.
17th & 18th September - Storytelling for families: King John - Hear why King John imprisoned his niece Eleanor, Margaret and Isobel the daughters of King William of Scotland and his wife, Queen Isobel, in Corfe Castle all at the same time.
24th & 25th September - Storytelling for families: Edward 1 - Edward I was the best castle builder ever.
4th October - Walk: Smugglers of Purbeck - Follow in the footsteps of Gulliver an infamous smuggler of the Dorset coast.
18th October - Walk: Miller's Bay and West Mill - A fascinating walk through Corfe Castle village to the historic ruin of West Mill and the leet.
22nd - 30th October - Hallowe'en at Corfe Castle - Come along and explore the castle this Hallowe'en.
1st - 20th November - Contemporary Lantern Display - See how contemporary lanterns subtly illuminate key castle architectural features along with vistas and voids.
8th November - Walk: King's Farm to Castle - Hear how farming through the centuries has changed the landscape of Purbeck.
